Here at Murray Management we take your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information to administer your Tenancy, for referencing purposes, for fraud prevention, to pursue debtors, to provide the products and services you have requested from us and will usually contact you by telephone, Email or Post or in accordance with our Terms. We may occasionally contact you to advise of important safety information or reminders about new legislation.
We will also need to pass your details occasionally onto our contractors in order that they can contact you to carry out a maintenance call at the property and in addition pass your details on to the Service companies i.e. Gas/Water/Electricity/Council Tax in order that they can contact you with regard to your opening and closing accounts at the property. Your details will also be passed to The Tenancy Deposit Scheme in accordance with Regulations.
Data will be held in accordance with the GDPR regulations. Paper data will be destroyed in accordance with HMRC 7 year policy this will be carried out by a professional Shredding company after your tenancy has ceased for 7 years.
For Tenants: Housing Benefit: Sharing information with your landlord could help us to deal with your claim more quickly and reduce the risk of you falling behind with your rent. If your housing benefit is paid directly to your landlord or your council rent account then we can discuss payment details as have to give your Landlord this information. With your permission we would also be able to tell your landlord if:
- You have claimed housing benefit
- We have made a decision on your claim or we need more information to make a decision and what that information is.
- You can withdraw your permission at any time by advising us in writing.

Murray Management will use the information I have provide to process any claim for housing benefit, council tax benefit or both. Murray Management may check some of the information with other sources within the council, the rent service, other councils and government departments eg. The benefits agency, the Inland Revenue and the Home office.
Murray Management may get information about me form certain other organisations, or give information about me to them to: make sure the information is accurate; prevent or detect crime; and protect public funds.
Such information will generally be collected directly via the use of any of our standard forms, over the internet, via email, in our branches or through a telephone conversation with you. We may also collect personal information through our affiliates or suppliers.
If I give information that is incorrect or incomplete you may take action against me, including court action.
